LINEAPELLE Asia 2015 – a high-end international leather exhibition organized by LINEAPELLE, Italian National Tanners Association, Italian Accessories & Components Association, co-organized by Shengdi Group and supported by the Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Commerce was held in Guangzhou W Hotel from October 21st-22nd.

This year’s edition focused on quality and innovation. The highlight of the event was the trend area presenting the newest innovative collection of leather materials, as well as the accompanying events, such as Lineapelle Trend Seminar Autumn-Winter 2016-2017, specialized lecture on the concepts in shoe design by Mr. David Hsieh from Guangzhou Footwear Design Committee and the Asian premiere of Lineapelle short-movie on the history of Italian leather “I come from”. All the exhibitors were top European tanners, who brought to Guangzhou their newest designs and collections of products.

The visitors who came to admire the newest trends in the international leather industry were professional buyers and designers from all over the world. The event attracted also representatives of chambers of commerce and industry associations, such as Guangdong Provincial Association of Leather Goods Industry, Guangzhou Leather and Leather Goods Chamber of Commerce, Guangzhou Leather Shoes Industry Chamber of Commerce and many others. 
 

LINEAPELLE Asia 2015 was the first event organized jointly by LINEAPELLE and Shengdi Group since the establishment of strategic partnership between those two parties in June 2015.

This year’s new sophisticated format focused on creativity, research, innovation and sustainability. The exhibiting tanneries were the most renowned Italian, German, Turkish and Indian manufacturers of leather, accessories & components, textiles and synthetics used to make shoes, handbags, leather goods and leather garments. LINEAPELLE Asia 2015 once again proved worthy of its reputation as the only unique fashion oriented leather event in China, where the designers could find the latest information on newest trends and collections, and professional buyers could find the most innovative high-end materials available on the market.

The 2016-2017 Autumn-Winter Season Trend Setting Presentation held during the event introduced the materials, textures, colors and forms to be trending in leather fashion in autumn-winter 2016-2017. According to the LINEAPELLE designer’s introduction, they will all be grouped in four major “moods”: Abstract, Digital-Pop, Fashion Drones and Experience.  

Another special event held during the exhibition was the Asian premiere of a short-movie “I come from”, which took its viewers on a journey through history of Italian leather that started thousands of years ago in Ancient Rome. It was an homage paid to the Italian tanneries spread across the country – from Veneto and Tuscany to Lombardy, and Campania – that have taken on this splendid heritage and turned it into innovative, creative, sophisticated industry of international excellence.
